Let your imagination soar free, look up into the stars and dream.

This dreamy single layer card features a scripty stamp set by Kelly Creates and Distress smooshing with Perfect Pearls and splatter accents.

Putting It Together

I started with the background and then let it speak to me for the perfect stamp set out of my stash.

For my some of my ink smooshing, I have a roll of the packing film from our last move. Getting inky doesn't need food safe film so this is cheaper for me. I dabbed ink and stain on to a bit of the cling film keeping them mostly to three areas without overlap: Broken China, Spun Sugar, and Milled Lavender. I used stain for the Spun Sugar since it's basically the same as the ink just more watery. I sprayed the inks with Perfect Pearls Confetti White mixed with water in a Mister.

I flipped the film on to the card base I had prepared. I made my card base from 140lb water colour paper. I masked off the back of the card using washi tape and printer paper.

I heat set the ink. If you heat from both the top and the bottom you can get the paper mostly unwarped. Lightly bending it against the warping after it's been heated can also bring it back mostly to flat. After the card is all done, putting it under something heavy also helps to flatten it.

The cloudy pastel of the inks made me think dreamy. I've had this stamp set in my stash a while looking for the perfect project. I stamped with a grey ink so it wouldn't be as stark as black. To further tone it down, I misted with Perfect Pearls.

For one last touch, I wanted to add some paint splatter. I put the card into a small box.

I dipped a brush into the Distress paint, Picket Fence, and tapped the brush handle with another brush to get a fine spray of droplets.
